Brewing Up Brighter Futures.
The Vision:
The concept is straight forward: use the business model of selling coffee as a vehicle for mentoring urban youth and empowering them with the skill‐sets that provide for sustainable and viable career and/or educational paths. We strive to create a self-sustaining business that is socially responsible and seeks to motivate the urban youth of South Florida to succeed.
The Program:
Urban Youth Impact Coffee is run by student interns who come from the inner-cities of South Florida. Urban Youth Impact Coffee is a program of Urban Youth Impact (UYI) designed to provide the opportunity for
mature students who excel in other UYI programs. We provide training to develop their skill set while earning an income. Interns are responsible for the buying, selling, marketing, and the distribution of all of our Premier Coffee products.
Intern's Testimony:
"During the course of working at Impact Coffee Company I have had the chance to visit a local coffee distributor and observe how coffee beans are roasted. I have become familiar with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Pro, PayPal, and Photoshop. My communication skills have greatly improved as well as my ability to speak in front of others. Impact coffee has given me a chance to take a behind the scenes look at what goes on at a small business. I was given the opportunity to apply the teamwork and managerial skills that I learned from the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) as a highschool student. I never thought that I would become an avid coffee drinker before working at Impact Coffee; however it has opened my eyes to the wonderful taste of Kona coffee. Working here is like being in school; everyday offers a new learning experience."
